Update: Nebraska Legislators Override Veto on Death Penalty

With Thugs, ISIS, and South Dakota at its gates, Nebraska has foolishly eliminated its only defense against serious crime: the death penalty. Governor Pete Ricketts (no relation to the disease) vetoed a bill this week that eliminated the death penalty, but then, the legislature overrode that veto to officially eliminate the time honored tradition of Nebraska legally killing some of its citizens.

Omaha's Ernie Chambers had been trying for almost 40 years to end capital punishment in the state you have to drive through to get to Colorado, and he did it wearing a purple short-sleeve sweatshirt.
