KANSAS (June 21) - Since slashing taxes, Kansas is doing so well, it is thinking of closing its public schools! Just give every kid in Kansas a copy of "Atlas Shrugged" and call it a day. The State Supreme Court has repeatedly told the state that it is underfunding its schools (in violation of the state constitution). Now, the Court has given Kansas a June 30 deadline to adequately fund schools, or the Court will block all school funding, effectively shutting them down. But look on the bright side: shutting down all the schools in Kansas will save even more money and lead to even lower taxes!
