Before you submit to the forums

One unique aspect of copyright and trademark law is that IDEAS are not protectable, rather, the expression of those ideas are protectable. Thus, in an effort to be as transparent and upfront as possible we’ve laid out the following:

1) YOU DON’T HAVE TO TELL US YOUR IDEA.

If you are worried about us taking your idea and not compensating you for it, don’t tell us your idea! If you are at all unsure about the ownership of your idea once you tell it to us, don't tell us your idea! Because, once you tell us your idea, you are agreeing to RAYGUN exclusively owning and determining the fate of your idea.

2) IF YOU TELL US YOUR IDEA.

If you do give us an unsolicited idea in person or digitally, if you submit a slogan as part of an online conversation, or if we request slogan ideas and you submit, your submission will become RAYGUN property. You must own the idea you are submitting. You cannot submit the idea of another person or party or that contains the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity. Submitting your idea does not, under any circumstances, establish a confidential relationship or legal obligation between you and RAYGUN. By submitting your idea, you hereby acknowledge and agree to transfer all right, title, and interest in any copyright or trademark rights that may be contained within your submission to RAYGUN, in perpetuity. If you do not agree to this, don’t tell us your idea.

3) IF WE CHOOSE TO USE YOUR IDEA.

However, to be fair, if your idea is incorporated into one or more of our products, we will contact you about compensation. Our basic compensation is 6 free shirts of your idea and 3 $50 gift cards. We may offer other forms of compensation on a case-by-case basis.

There's more too. View our complete Terms & Conditions.
