Maybe We Should Change Songs?

Athletes have been sitting or kneeling during our current National Anthem. Sure, much of the blame for this falls on institutional deficiencies in America that some athletes are trying to highlight. But doesn't a little blame rest on song itself?

Of course are going to sit down during that star-spangled-snoozer! This isn't the 1800's. We need something fresh. We need something that gets people outa their seats and yelling, "Now THIS shit is patriotic!"

Not too modern, mind you. We need something that has survived at least 30 years. The other day, that perfect tune came to us, like an angel from above: Kenny Loggins' 1986-hit "Danger Zone."

Colin Kaepernick may start kneeling, but once Kenny builds his vocal assault to "You'll never know what you can do / Until you get it up as high as you can go" and starts shredding on the guitar, CK will be like, "My First Amendment rights can wait, this song FUCKING ROCKS! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!"
